Earn 1.5 Aeroplan Miles for every $1 you spend at a gas stations, grocery or drug stores1.
This bonus applies to every purchase you make at these locations for your first $80,000 in total annual spending. All purchases at merchants that are categorized in the Visa Network as gas stations, grocery or drug stores will earn 50% more Aeroplan Miles.
Remember, it's not what you buy, but where you buy it. For example, whether it's milk or a lawn chair, if you buy it at a grocery store, you'll earn 1.5 Aeroplan Miles. That's 50% more for every $1 you spend. Of course, you'll continue to receive one Aeroplan Mile for every dollar charged to the card at all other locations2.

1 The 50% more offer applies to CIBC Aerogold Visa Card and CIBC Aerogold Visa Infinite Card purchases (less returns) at merchants which are classified in the credit card network as grocery stores, service stations/automated gas dispensers or drug stores. Some merchants may sell these products/services or are separate merchants who are located on the premises of these merchants, but are classified in another manner, in which case this added benefit would not apply. Any returns or other credits for card purchases at grocery, gas or drug stores will be deducted from your Aeroplan Account at the rate of 1.5 Aeroplan Miles for each dollar in returns/credits. This bonus offer is only available on the first $80,000 in net annual card purchases on your CIBC Aerogold account (meaning all card purchases by all cardholders, at any type of merchant); after that, net card purchases at these merchants will earn Aeroplan Miles at the regular rate. The $80,000 limit will reset to zero after the day your December statement is printed. Terms, conditions and eligible merchant categories may change without notice.
2 Aeroplan Miles are earned on card purchases less returns. Cash advances, Aerogold Cheques, Balance Transfers, fees, interest and payments do not qualify for Aeroplan Miles. Aeroplan Miles will be awarded only if your CIBC Aerogold Visa or CIBC Aerogold Visa Infinite Account is in good standing on the monthly statement date (otherwise Aeroplan Miles are cancelled). Taxes, landing and departure fees, and other charges and surcharges may apply to Aeroplan reward travel. Aeroplan Miles are not actual miles, but points towards Aeroplan Rewards. 4 Aeroplan rules require at least one accumulation or redemption transaction each year in an Aeroplan account or the Aeroplan Miles will expire. CIBC has ensured that this doesn't happen to Aerogold Visa Infinite and Aerogold Visa cardholders in good standing. Please note, however, that Aeroplan Miles will expire if they are not redeemed within 7 years from when they were earned (or on Dec. 31, 2013, for Miles earned before 2007).
